Sinopsis

This program examines the strategies the Allied forces used to surprise the Germans during the D-Day landing in Normandy; follows the Allies as they march through Paris, break down German defenses and eventually conquer Germany; and documents the war's end with the dropping of atomic bombs on Japan. This worldwide war fought via land, air and sea involved more than 70 nations and claimed the lives of more than 60 million people.
